FAQ
In each of the 13 districts, four representatives are elected. Representation on the company and district tenants' councils is decided in a single ballot. The candidate with the most votes is elected to the company tenants' council. The next three candidates form the district tenants' council team, and the next two are available as alternates. One representative each is elected to the company tenants' council to represent severely disabled and foreign tenants. The candidates for these positions are identical on all ballots.
The tenants' councils are elected separately for each district in a free and secret ballot by postal vote. Their term of office is aligned with the municipal election cycle of the state of Hesse.
Eligible to vote and stand for election are tenants who live in the respective district and have a rental agreement for their apartment with Wohnbau Gießen GmbH. Only one person per rental agreement is eligible to stand for election, and each person has one vote.
Tenants employed by Wohnbau Gießen GmbH or Wohnbau Mieterservice GmbH are not eligible to run for these positions.
